EZ-LOCK Pool Floats Keep Swimmers Safe

Swimmer safety is incredibly important for any commercial swimming pool. A combination of rules, procedures, supervision and equipment are the best ways to keep guests safe while they enjoy everything your aquatic facility has to offer. An easy way to partition active safety zones your pool is with Competitor Swim’s EZ-LOCK Floats strung on floating pool safety line. This creates a highly visible demarcation, which assists parents and lifeguards in helping children play safely. Providing safe play activities for guest of all ages and abilities is one of the keys to a happy customer base and successful programming.

The easiest place to start marking areas of your swimming pool with EZ-LOCK pool floats are areas that may be hazardous to inexperienced swimmers, like the deep end of the pool. In fact, most states require some demarcation of the deep end with a safety line. Before getting started, you should check your states regulations for guidance.

Swimming Pool Safety Lines with EZ-LOCK Pool floats Have Multiple Uses

  • A safety line is an easy step you can take to make your aquatic facility safer for young and inexperienced swimmers.
  • Safety lines can also be used to mark unsafe areas around diving boards and other deep-water features like slides.
  • If your facility hosts water activities and classes, use safety lines to rope off areas of the pool to separate free swim ares from activity areas, creating organization and prevent accidents caused by pool traffic.
  • Clearly marking potentially hazardous zoned will aid lifeguards, parents, older children and teens in guiding the play of the most at risk groups.

Most pool float lines are made of buoyant plastic floats slid onto a polypropylene rope. Without stoppers or other hardware, floats made for this type of application often slide around on the rope, creating uneven buoyancy. We recommend EZ-LOCK Pool Floats from Competitor Swim with a new twist-lock design that eliminates sliding without any additional hardware usage. Simply string the float onto a pool-safe rope line and twist until it’s tight. Inside Competitor’s EZ-LOCK float are specially engineered cuts cause the float to lock into place. EZ-LOCK floats can then be easily removed or loosened by twisting in the float in the opposite direction.

Competitor Swim’s twist and lock design also allows their EZ-LOCK floats to fit three different sizes of pool rope instead of just one, making them more versatile. EZ-LOCK floats are rated for 3/8 inch, 1/2 inch, and 3/4 inch rope (rope sold separately). While diameter of the pool rope used is a matter of personal preference, the thicker rope the more visible your safety line will be. Similarly, because polypropylene rope floats pretty well in water on its own, the number of EZ-LOCK floats you use on the safety line is also personal preference. However, we recommend spacing them one to two feet apart for maximum buoyancy and visibility. EZ-LOCK floats come in red, blue, as well as a red and blue combo.

EZ-LOCK floats, like Competitor Swim’s racing lane discs, are made of linear polyethylene and treated with LifeSpan+ for durability and longevity. LifeSpan+ makes the plastic chemical and UV resistant, keeping the plastic from breaking down and fading from continuous exposure to chlorine and sunlight. Altogether, it’s estimated that LifeSpan+ makes floats last up to seven times sturdier than floats without this treatment, depending on use, environment, and maintenance.
